Instructions To Register For Renegades 2020 AAU Spring Tournament Season:

Boys Grades 3 thru 11 & Girls Grades 6 thru 11

which will continue during March 2020.

Everyone should bring their own basketball and if player is not a club member please bring check for 175.00 membership fee made out to Renegades

along with club registration form (click on link below).  Brand new players should also bring Uniform fee.  (Click on "Fee Information" below for amount)

$50.00 cost for 6th Gr & under players' jersey and shorts and $120.00 7th Gr & up players' 3 piece dazzle uniform set (2 black & white jerseys and 1 pair of shorts)

You can also register online in advance by clicking link below "Electronic Online  Registration form" and then click on "Payments" link near top of webpage.    Everyone should bring their own basketball to tryouts. We recommend registering in advance electronically to avoid delays at evaluations.

No one can attend tryouts without becoming a club member. Club membership covers Tryouts, insurance and our weekly drills sessions.  Weekly drills and skills are on Sundays during the winter thru the end of March.  We post a weekly drills announcement in upper right hand corner of our website stating date and times and players can attend weekly drills as soon as they become club members.

We do not cut players, we place them on club teams that will ensure the best situation for their development during the spring season. There are no refunds for the 175.00 club membership fee but your child can continue to attend weekly drills and skills till August 31, 2020.  Your child should attend a minimum of 3 to 4 tryouts. If their school ball season is conflicting with our schedule or for other reasons, they should then attend drills as soon as possible. Please also email parenegades@comcast.net if your child has a conflict with a tryout session. For the AAU season, players play their grade, we do not play them a grade up.

Following Tryouts, practices start immediately and you can click on "Practice Schedule" on our website every Monday morning to view weekly practice schedule.
Generally there are two team practices per week plus weekly drills. 

We do not know when each team will practice yet until we can poll the parents and figure out nights where a majority of players can attend. Team assignments will be sent in an email confirmation to families as soon as they are determined following tryouts. 

Cost of Spring AAU tournament season

Please be advised that in addition to club membership and uniform fee there is an additional spring fundraising fee & spring tournaments fee based on grade and how many tournaments your child will attend.  Please click on "Fee Information" below for additional costs. One local girls tournament cost  is 76.00 and one travel girls tournament is 93.00 (except Wildwood cost is 100.00 which does not include your hotel cost).  One local boys tournament cost is 68.00 and one travel boys tournament is 88.00 (except Wildwood cost is 90.00 which does not include your hotel cost).  The required fundraising fee includes 20 Raffle tickets at a cost of 5.00 per ticket and 2 tickets for our Bingo Fundraiser on Friday May 15, 2020. (Each ticket costs 25.00 per person and includes food) This fundraising fee was initiated about 5 years ago to avoid raising the tournament fee costs which have not been increased in those 5 years. Spring tournament fees include the cost of the tournament team entry, practice and tournament mileage plus hotel reimbursement for coaches, gym rental practice time, etc.

You can request more than 20 raffle tickets to sell in order to help reduce the tournaments fee.  We also have a letter to obtain donations that you can take to local establishments to help defray costs.  

Spring AAU tournament season format

During the spring aau season players attend weekend tournaments.  Girls usually play 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday.  Boys play 2 games on Saturday and one game on Sunday morning and if their team qualifies they may play in a second championship game on Sunday. During the tryouts we will be handing out "Availability Sheets" where you can tell us which weekends your child is available to play.  Then the coach figures out which weekends the majority of players can play and assigns 10 players to each tournament.  Most teams carry rosters of 12 or more players which allows flexibility with making sure there are at least 10 players available for each tournament.  Weekend Tournaments start end of March or beginning of April and continue till middle to end of June. The popular Wildwood girls tournament is being held on June 19,20,21, 2020 and the Wildwood boys tournament will be held on June 27-28, 2020. A poll will be taken to see how many families on each team wish to attend the Wildwood tournament and if enough players commit then hotel rooms should be reserved as soon as possible by early April since soccer tournaments also take place on those weekends and hotels get full quickly!  Older teams can elect to attend College showcase tournaments that take place in July.  Our Tournament Availability sheet has not been updated for 2020 because many tournament dates have not yet been set by the hosting clubs but that info should be posted by beginning of February.
